so far, this year, "Little Miss Sunshine" is my favorite film. it made me feel so happy and proud of myself for a lifetime of "flipping off" the system.
i absolutely loved "snakes on a plane". i just wish it had done better at the box office, thus insuring the sequel "more snakes on a soul plane" starring Mo'Nique. oh my god, could you imagine?
i had fun in Asbury Park friday night. Lahoma and Michelle Visage came down with us. it was a bit bittersweet because it was my last show in the New York area, as my plan is to retire my nightclub act by year's end.
the new Kelis cd, "Kelis Was Here" is friggin' fabulous! i'm living for it.
saw "Kiki & Herb: Alive On Broadway" last week. i laughed so hard, i almost peed my pants. fucking brilliant. very smart, and clever as hell.
are all men fucked up whack jobs? ...or just the ones i'm attracted to? probably just the latter, as i am prone to very complex people.
this week, i will post some of my never released recordings on the MySpace page. things that you'll be able to download for free.

any dialog about dogma is such a bore to me, except when it comes to worshiping the most fascinating of siblings to launch a career from the Havenhurst Estate. "for those of you who didn't believe, roll up your sleeve".

10 years ago, my family and i became obsessed with a BBC documentary about child beauty pageants entitled "Painted Babies" (I've watched it at least 300 times). today, PJ sent me a follow-up link to one of the captivating stars of this masterpiece.

whenever i hear news of some botched terrorist plot the government has "saved" us from, my first two thoughts are: a.) it's a lie b.) what are they trying to distract us from.

i had only seen 2 episodes of "the comeback" when it was running on HBO. i just finished devouring the first (and only) season on dvd. i can't believe how brilliant it is. Lisa Kudrow is God.
i used to watch The Mike Douglas Show everyday after school. he had such a wide range of guests that i basically learned the history of show business from watching his talk show. on any given day, he would have Sarah Vaughn, Way Bandy, LaBelle, Red Skelton, Joe Frazier, The O'Jays and Cher as his co-host for the week. the first time i saw Blondie was on his show. if his show had continued, maybe today i wouldn't have to explain who the Pointer Sisters are to my twenty-something friends. thank you for the education, Mr. Douglas. you will be missed.
Poppychirpy didn't know that SHE recorded "Man/Woman" before i did. he sent me the link to her music video, which i had never seen. i fucking love it. SHE'S serving Atlanta's own Miss Lily White, circa 1982.
i couldn't find a photo of Lily White, but i did find this. enjoy!

Gene Simmons of the rock band Kiss has a new reality show on A&E. On the very first episode he introduces us to his son's new band, Nick Simmons and the Electric Chairs. Gene goes on to state that if the name isn't trademarked, it's fair game. That may be so, but the name has been in usage by Jayne County and the Electric Chairs since 1978, when the single "F**k Off" helped launch the UK punk explosion.
It's not as if Gene doesn't know who Jayne County is; Kiss got their big break/recording deal by being an opening act for Jayne County (at that time, her group's name was Jayne County & the Backstreet Boys, another name that was plucked from Jayne's grasp in 1995). Needless to say, Jayne County is furious.

Vivid sent over a bunch of movies and boy, they are smokin'! so far, i've only watched the ones Chi Chi directed, which are further proof that Miss LaRue is a true genius at whatever genre she touches. i've never seen straight porn look so beautiful and still retain the nasty edge of gay porn. some of the camera angles rival Brian DePalma!
in The Darkside of Brianna, the star has this "guy's gal" type of playfulness that is undeniably the reason she's a superstar. Brianna Banks reminds me of Cameron Diaz with a double D cup. with a sly smirk on her face, she deliberately licks her fingers and then quickly slaps her pussy, as if to say 'giddy up motherfucker'. in the films i've watched so far, the women have all the power. very hot!

during interviews, i'm often asked what i think of the local T.V. news outlet's inevitable footage of "dykes on bikes" and "bearded drag queens" when depicting gay lifestyles.
whenever the question is posed, my ear always hears it as - don't you think it hurts the gay movement when straight people see only "dykes on bikes" and "bearded drag queens" in footage of the Pride Parade?
first of all, the footage is more indicative of the local T.V. news outlet than it is of everyday gay lifestyle, and the discerning viewer knows that. the media has to use images that grab the attention of viewers, and at the same time reinforce the ideology of their advertisers, who motivate consumers with the fear of not "fitting in".
secondly, this obsession with appearing to be straight and "normal" in order to miraculously change the way prejudice people feel about us is ridiculous. they have a vested interest in keeping the truth about real love at bay.
it is completely natural to follow your heart and explore all this world has to offer. it is against nature to confine yourself to a rigid set of unrealistic rules for the duration experience on this planet.
the gay rights movement will not advance by changing the minds of prejudice people. the gay rights movement will advance by changing the minds of gay people.
bearded drag dykes on bikes are magically delicious. power to the people.
