Sunday, February 22, 2009 The Perfect Ru It was quite perfect. We recorded the whole album in Lucian's bedroom, with his closet serving as the vocal booth. Just the three of us, Lu, Ru & Gumbo (Lucian's dog). Sidenote: Part of the reason Mama named me RuPaul was to pay homage to her creole roots. Creole chefs start with a "roux" as the base for traditional Gumbo. Mama always said "the best Gumbo starts with the perfect roux."
