Tuesday, October 07, 2008 soweto, calif. i don't regret taking the tour of Soweto, but i must admit, driving through shanty town tourist attractions and gawking at poor people isn't one of my favorite things to do. a little too close to my own illustrious beginnings, to be honest. the whole experience reminded me of the moral behind Preston Sturges' film "Sullivan's Travels". that said, it's hard to walk away from there and not feel eternally grateful for... well, everything.
