the greatest

i've been making records since 1983, and while some are better than others, nothing compares to the titty twisting experience i've had making my latest album "Champion".

i was introduced to Lucian Piane by World Of Wonder, with the hope that we would 'hit it off' and come up with a theme song for RuPaul's Drag Race.

well, 'hit it off' we did. 12 songs later, i feel ecstatically proud of this collection of songs that not only chronicles our hilarious, serendipitous collaboration, but also serves as a personal mantra to awaken the dormant spirits.

the theme of this album is stepping up to your throne, owning your power and saying goodbye to playing small. there has been a shift in consciousness socially, politically and spiritually. the time has come for you to be... Champion.

my big opening

the party was fun,
even though i never got inside the gallery.
too many guests. 2000 rsvp'd.

i hung out in the parking lot
and had a terrific time greeting and laughing with people out there.
it was perfect.

i'd planned on staying till 9:30,
but ended up staying till 11pm because outside was so comfortable.
my tolerance for 'too close for comfort' schmoozing is very low.

the exhibition will run through February 7th.

World Premiere: New Single!

RuPaul - COVER GIRL

i was very disappointed in Clint Eastwood's "The Changeling". it was boring and way too long, and i'm sorry, but i can't buy Angelina Jolie as a vulnerable character. now had she cocked a sawed off shotgun and uttered the line "that's not my son", i would have bought it.

but, Clint more than redeemed himself with his other 2008 release "Gran Torino". it was splendid, masterful, haunting and smart. it could easily win Best Picture, Best Director & Best Actor.

i saw alot of movies over the holiday season. some were good, some were bad, and some were downright ugly. here's my 2 cents:

THE GOOD:
doubt
slumdog millionaire
gran torino
synecdoche, new york
frozen river
the reader
milk
vicky cristina barcelona
australia
the wrestler

THE BAD & THE UGLY:
benjamin button
changeling
revolution road
seven pounds
what just happened
defiance
tale of despereaux
quantum of solace
rachel getting married

"RuBen Button" by Brian Heinberg

flirting with top 40

i heard Adele's "chasing pavements" for the first time in the spring of '08, but it wasn't until it was used in a commercial on Lifetime that i became obsessed with it. i'm gonna buy the cd today.
